Mount Elgon National Park Mount Elgon National Park is situated on the border of Uganda and Kenya, approximately 140 kilometers (87 miles) northeast of Kampala, Uganda's capital. The park covers an area of about 1,500 square kilometers (580 square miles) and encompasses the extinct Mount Elgon volcano, which rises to an elevation of 4,321 meters (14,177 feet) at its highest peak, Wagagai. The park is accessible via several entry points, with the main ones being in Uganda at the towns of Budadiri and Sipi, and in Kenya at the Suam area.
